



Green Puppet Productions, created by Sam Measor, is a puppetry company with a focus on sustainability. This company aims to help improve sustainability within the creative industries by Designing puppets to be reusable and easily storable and by using as much recycled materials as possible. the future goal of this company is to design puppets that can be used in performances to spread awareness for the impact of climate change and the environment.
Sam Measor
Sam is an enthusiastic designer/maker with a passion for puppetry and sustainability. She enjoys combining her love for animals and nature with her creative skills to make puppets and models.
Sam grew up in Bristol but feels at home in South Wales where she hopes to develop her career. Sam’s hobbies include Photography, Writing Music and Taking her dog for nature walks.
Sam’s future goal is to make puppets that help tell stories that inform, educate and raise awareness for climate change.

Sandy
Sandy is a dog puppet that was designed/made by Sam for a production of Anni. Anni was produced by Canolfan S4C Yr Egin and Cwmni Theatr Menter Cwm Gwendraeth Elli.
Sandy was the first puppet that sam made and this sparked her passion for the craft. Sandy is made out of mostly recycled materials. He can sit, stand, lie down and give a paw. As sandy was designed for children his mechanisms are simple and he can be operated by 2 children or one adult.

Merlin
Sam was assistant puppet maker for a giant Merlin Puppet which was designed/created by Rhianna Yates for Eisteddfod Urdd. Sam helped out with various elements of the puppet including making the gem for his staff, applying fabric for his head/beard, making fingernails and applying/painting Paper Mache to create skin and wrinkles. some of the techniques used to make the puppet look old included Dry brushing to highlight age lines, staining and adding scrunched paper for depth.



















The Gemini Killer
Sam was Prop Designer/Maker/curator for The Gemini Killer; a murder mystery produced by Acta Community Theatre’s phoenix group and directed by Ingrid Jones.
Sam designed personalised Tarot cards for each character in this production. She designed these cards using photoshop and then created them. The purple card is an example of a calling card left by the killers.
Sam also designed/created a notebook for a Police Women which included elements from the script and sketches of criminals that character had drawn. Sam designed these pages using Photoshop and then created them in a notebook. She also recreated the front cover to replicate a 1920’s police notebook.
